This month, NJEJA submitted comments to the NJBPU regarding their request for comments on the their virtual power plant (VPP) program. In our comments, we recommended a three-pillar energy justice framework which could serve as the basis for the VPP program. The three pillars are:
Community Distributed Energy Resource overlays to guarantee community ownership models
Performance-Based Regulation with Equity Metrics to support equity in VPP development
Binding Community Governance to support community input on decision making and development
